Scientific interest: Group A Streptococcus (GAS) is a significant human pathogen that causes a wide range of infections, serious and invasive disorders. Due to the large number of prevalent serotypes which differ from country to country, it is very difficult to make a universal vaccine against the GAS hence, no universal vaccine has been licensed till date to combat GAS pathogenesis. Our interest is to use already determined vaccine candidate Spy_2191 for further in-depth immunogenic analysis, finding suitable epitopes and developing a multi-epitope based vaccine construct using the screened B and T cell epitopes. Further analysis of efficacy & potency of the construct using multiple immunoinformatic tools and validating in mice.
